Peru State College Athletics

Brent Melvin began working at Peru State College as the head athletic trainer and an adjunct faculty member in January 2006. The Iowa native earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training from Iowa State University in December 2000.  He earned a master's degree from Wayne State College in organizational management with an emphasis in sports management.

Melvin has experience working with athletes at the high school, collegiate and semi-professional levels. He is a past vice president of the NAIA NATA group.

He resides in Peru and has a son, Christopher, and a daughter Katelyn.

Melvin is also an EMT and a member of the Peru Rescue Squad.
