(Peru, Neb.) – The Lynx of LIndenwood-Belleville University (LBU) scored the first two buckets of the game and never trailed in route to a 78-65 victory over the visiting Peru State Bobcats on Saturday.
With the win, the Lynx improved to 5-4 on the season while the 'Cats fell to 3-3.

(Kansas City, Mo.) hit a bucket with 16:49 left in the first half to get the Bobcats on the board. The Lynx scored another four points to lead 9-2 before
Taylor Christensen (Phoenix, Ariz.) hit a bucket in the paint on an assist from Tomie Aromona
(Kansas City, Mo.) to cut the deficit to 9-4 at the 15:07 mark.
A bucket by Tomie Aromona pulled Peru State back to a 9-6 deficit with 14:29 left in the first 20 minutes. Over the course of the next four minutes, LBU outscored Peru State 12 to 5 to lead 21-11 with ten minutes left in the half.
Nate Bohy (Mesa, Ariz.) hit a bucket in the paint to make it 21-13 with 9:31 remaining. Bohy followed up with another bucket to put Peru State back within six at 21-15 with 8:51 left in the half.
A 6-2 run put the Lynx back up by double digits at 27-17 with 6:18 left in the first 20 minutes. Later, with 1:37 left in the half, LBU had stretched their lead to 11 at 38-27. A pair of free throws and a two-pointer by Tomie Aromona got Peru State back to a single-digit deficit at halftime at 38-31.
After the Lynx scored the first bucket in the second half, Bohy hit a bucket with 18:06 left in the game to make it 40-33. This would be the closest the Bobcats would be in the second half.
LBU led by as many as 24 in the second half at 64-40 with 11:49 to go. The Bobcats continued to battle the rest of the game as they did outscore the Lynx 25-14, but it was not enough as the 'Cats lost their third game of the season.

From the floor, the Lynx outshot Peru State as they made 30 of 70 attempts for 42.9% while the Bobcats made 23 of 63 for 36.5%. From behind the arc, LBU hit 6 of 25 for 24% while the 'Cats made just 3 of 16 for 18.8%. Peru State did go to the free throw line more times and hit 16 of 22 for 72.7% while the Lynx made 12 of 17 for 70.6%.
LBU grabbed eight more rebounds than Peru State, 48 to 40. The Lynx committed 18 turnovers compared to Peru State's 20.
Individual Statistics
Bohy led all scorers with 24 points on 8 of 16 shooting from the floor and making 7 of 8 free throws. Tomie Aromona was the only other Bobcat in double figures as he finished with 11 points.
Jarvis Green-Smoot (Norfolk) grabbed six rebounds to lead Peru State in that category while Bohy added five. Tomie Aromona dished out four assists while
Jesse Jones (Edmond, Okla.) led the team with four steals. Bohy and
Kody Kirkpatrick (Loami, Ill.) were each credited with a block.

Upcoming Games
The Bobcats will travel to Maryville, Mo., on Tuesday night to face the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats at 7 p.m. This will be an exhibition game for the Bobcats against the NCAA DII Bearcats.
On Saturday, the Bobcats will take on another NCAA DII opponent, but this one will be a regular-season match-up. Peru State will travel to face the Wayne State College Wildcats with the game starting at 6 p.m.
The first week of December Peru State will play three games. On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Bobcats will be traveling to Lawrence, Kan., to take on the Fighting Indians of Haskell Indian Nations University at 7 p.m.
Then, on Thursday, Dec. 5, Peru State will be opening Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) play at home by hosting the Benedictine College Ravens. The game will start approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game at around 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, the 'Cats will be playing their second HAAC game of the year as they travel to face the Evangel University Crusaders in Springfield, Mo. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. or approximately 30 minutes after the women's game finishes.
