Derrick Williams Joins Bobcat 1,000-Point Club

(Peru, Neb.) – Playing in Peru State College's (PSC) final game of the season, Derrick Williams (St. Joseph, Mo.) finished his junior season with a game-high 20 points.  His 20 points pushed him over the 1,000 point-mark as he ended his second year at PSC with 1,008 points.

Williams is still outside of the Bobcats' all-time Top Ten in Career Scoring as Wayne Heine, who played in 1966-68, is tenth with 1,148 points.  Hall of Famer Danny Shouse leads the Bobcats in career scoring with 1,867 points having played in 1977-79.
 
After the regular season, Williams was the Heart of America Athletic Conference's (HAAC) leading scorer as he finished the season averaging 19.59 points per game.  Williams is also ranked as the HAAC's fourth best field goal shooter having finished making 44.9% of his field goal attempts.
 
Presently, Williams is ranked 17th in the NAIA DI in points per game (19.593) and 18th in total scoring (529 points).
