(Peru, Neb.) – Having played less than two years at Peru State College (PSC) does not mean that a career record could not be broken.
In two seasons, junior center Andre Wells
(Colorado Springs, Colo.) has established himself as the Bobcats' new individual career record-holder in blocked shots.
Last season, Wells blocked 42 shots. This season, Wells closed in on the mark previously held by Kip Shestak, who played for PSC from 2001-2003.
On Jan. 28 against Central Methodist, Wells tied Shestak's total of 75. Then, against Benedictine College on Feb. 16, Wells broke the mark as he swatted away two Raven shots.
By the end of the season, Wells finished with 78, having secured another block in the Bobcats' last regular-season game.
At the end of the regular season, Wells finished in two NAIA DI categories. Wells was ranked 39
th in blocks per game (1.24) and total blocks (36).
